Women in TechWorks

We’re excited to introduce Women in Techworks (WiT) — a new, member-led initiative focused on diversity and creating meaningful support for women across the technology sector. Designed to foster a strong sense of belonging, visibility, and opportunity for women at all stages of their careers.

There has been some suggested focus areas which are:

  • • Build the Talent Pipeline from primary school through to university
  • • Establish Support Structures such as mentorship and networking opportunities
  • • Support the Integration of International Women in Techworks communities
  • • Retain women in tech roles
  • • Develop Leadership Pathways for career progression
  • • Increase Visibility & Representation of Women in Tech

Diversity and inclusion are no longer optional. With growing attention on STEM outreach, fair representation, and talent pipeline development, WiT offers a timely, relevant, and practical response to challenges facing our sector.

By investing in women’s development and visibility now, we’re not just supporting individual growth , we’re reinforcing innovation, improving retention, and reflecting the values we aspire to uphold as a technology community. Our initial planning session brought together passionate voices from across the deep tech ecosystem, including representatives from NXP, Rolls-Royce, Clas-SiC Wafer Fab, Nexperia, Leonardo, Flexciton, and Jaltek. The energy, enthusiasm, and commitment from this group was the driving force behind the decision to take WiT forward.

This is a significant undertaking, but with the active engagement of our member companies, WiT has the potential to become a truly transformative initiative.

To bring WiT to life, we are planning to:

  • • Map existing initiatives across member companies to promote shared learning and best practices
  • • Host our first networking event — such as a Lunch & Learn — to bring women together and inspire conversation
  • • Identify mentors and mentees, encouraging women to lead, speak, and share their stories

We invite all Techworks member companies to get involved and show their support by:

  • • Encouraging your female employees to participate in WiT
  • Nominating individuals who would like to support, mentor, or present
  • • Sharing your company’s internal initiatives, so we can amplify existing momentum and collaborate effectively

    Next step: express your interest

We’d love to hear from you what you’d like to see from WiT, how you or your company might contribute, or even just to stay in the loop as things evolve. Please complete this google Form to share your interst and any early ideas.

With your support, Women in Techworks can become a powerful platform for change — shaping the future of our industry and ensuring it is inclusive, diverse, and ready for what comes next.
