TechWorks is a new type of industry association at the core of the UK deep tech community with an ambition to harness UK's fantastic engineering and innovation to develop its position as a global technology super-power. TechWorks has established a novel membership model based around a series of Connected Communities each of which serves members' interest whilst at the same time remaining connected to a wider ecosystem enabling cross-domain connections and work towards common challenges.

The Role

TechWorks is seeking to appoint a positive, creative, and enthusiastic Senior Marketing and communications executive who has a passion for working across a broad range of marketing aspects, to assist with key communications and branding projects which support the strategic objectives of the organisation.

The main purpose of this role is to support the company in the creation, development and delivery of regular communications, social media and campaign activity.

In this role you will be expected to be involved at various levels of marketing and administration. This includes liaising with marketing and media agencies and developing our social media portals. Tasks will include:

  • Ensure a cohesive and coordinated annual communications plan is in place across all Company communications activity.
  • Create strategies to enhance the Company's brand and reputation through PR and thought-leadership initiatives.
  • To develop, implement and measure marketing activities using analytical tools, delivering measurable projects and campaigns on time, within budget and to a consistently high quality.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media representatives.
  • Public Relations - produce press releases and blogs.
  • Build and communicate different value-added propositions, focussing on Company’s competencies in all relevant areas.
  • Execute Go-To-Market Plan for new product launches.
  • Creating promotional content for social media, email, events and webinars etc.
  • Managing the day-to-day marketing activities across TechWorks member communities.
  • Using bespoke content to engage existing members and attract new members.
  • Preparing promotional material specific for TechWorks and its communities.
  • Communicate to key stakeholders on our priority themes and activities.
  • Updating the websites.
  • Creating artwork copy.
  • Assisting with event planning and delivery.
  • Assisting in the production of member focussed reports and collateral.

Requirements

  • Ideally you will be qualified to degree level and / or a qualification from the chartered institute of marketing, with at least 3-5 years’ experience.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge and experience of social media platforms to achieve marketing aims.
  • Computer proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience using Adobe programs (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), or equivalent is desirable.
  • Effective communication, administration and organisational skills.
  • Strong team player, but also able to take ownership of independent work.
  • Strong command of the English language both written and spoken.
  • Multi-channel marketing skills
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

 

The right candidate will be proficient in the above areas with a ‘can-do’ and ‘continuous improvement’ attitude. Being a team player is also important as we are a dynamic team and required to work beyond our normal roles from time to time to achieve our organisational priorities.
