The IoT Security Foundation (IoTSF) is a non-profit, membership community of TechWorks. It has a mission to ‘make it safe to connect’ with a specific focus on IoT cybersecurity, providing expert leadership and guidance to improve the quality of fit-for-purpose IoT security solutions – see www.iotsf.org

Background: As part of a world-class consortium, IoTSF successfully won an Innovate UK collaborative funding grant to develop advanced cybersecurity capabilities delivered via the gateway/router. This is known as the ManySecured project and further details can be seen here: https://manysecured.net. We continue to advocate the importance of scalable, interoperable and innovative router technologies for a safe and connected world and are extending this work through an exciting follow-on (2 year) funded project which requires a competent project manager to lead and facilitate the collaborative elements with the project partners and eco-system stakeholders.

Successful teams are made of capable people, common goals and a winning attitude. We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised self-starter, with a passion for technology and teamwork, motivated by the importance of making the digital world a safer place. This role will suit someone with a ‘can-do’ attitude, who can facilitate progress, be creative in problem solving and wants to be part of a strong, dynamic and successful team.

ROLE: Responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of IoTSF’s collaborative projects. This role is all about facilitating and fostering ICT collaboration and would suit someone who enjoys interacting with smart people from varied backgrounds (e.g. academics, to engineers, to entrepreneurs and managers), and can ensure our projects and activities meet their objectives. Managing the day to day progress and operations, you will oversee timely completion of IoTSF related responsibilities in collaboration with colleagues and external partners. Duties include organising and driving progress meetings, project reporting, overseeing the project budget, resource assignment, making contributions and ensuring sustainability beyond the life of the project.

Educated to degree level, the successful candidate will have excellent people skills and a solid understanding of IT systems, networking and software including awareness of how the open source community works.

ESSENTIAL PERSONAL QUALITIES:

  • 5 years+ ICT or related technology industry experience
  • Demonstrable project management skills & experience: goal focused, facilitation, budget control, reporting etc.

WHY APPLY?:

  • Exciting, ground breaking project work
  • Attractive benefits package includes competitive salary, holiday entitlement, pension and health insurance
  • Flexible working – home or office based (must be UK resident) with some travel likely
