UKESF Collaborate with In2ScienceUK

9th December 2020 | News

We can all agree that providing young people with an insight to the Electronics sector through work experience is a “win-win”.

Work experience is a great for developing their interest in Electronics and is also an excellent way of raising promoting an organisation to potential, future, employees. However, organising work experience can be a bit hit-and-miss.  However, we are now collaborating with In2ScienceUK  (see my recent Blog post ).

In2ScienceUK are a charity that works with academically able young people (Year 12) from under-represented backgrounds, such as low-income families and those from ethnic minority backgrounds.  They are having a dramatic impact on the lives of young people, with 83% of young people on their programme progressing to higher education.

Now, here is the rub. None of the 600+ companies that In2scienceUK currently work with are from the Electronics sector. This means that TechWorks members are missing a massive opportunity to do something to inspire the next generation. Therefore, if your company is based in cities where In2scienceUK operate (Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Canterbury, Exeter, Lancaster, London, Oxford, Reading and Welwyn Garden City) then please consider hosting work placements next summer for Year 12 students with In2scienceUK. You can find more details here.
