Monthly Update From TechWorks CEO, Alan Banks

9th December 2020 | News

Welcome to the final CEO update of 2020. This has been a year like no other and we have seen some highs and lows. The Covid-19 Pandemic has dominated our lives as well as Global political events.

Some of our member companies were hit quite badly by Covid-19 but some have thrived with the opportunities brought about by the new ways of working together.  Our colleagues in the Automotive, Aerospace and hospitality sectors have had a tough year whereas we have seen an increase in demand for new technology to support home working, the medical sector and the consumer electronics industry.

Overall the Technology sector has fared quite well during 2020 and we are proud to have been instrumental in providing collaborative partnerships to support the Ventilator challenge earlier in the year and also to provide a communication channel for Government to our members.

Like many business’ we were impacted by the ban on large gatherings and we have missed our events throughout the year including our prestigious Annual Summit and Awards dinner but we have been successful in moving to new digital platforms to hold our events including our highly successful online IoTSF conference in early December with record number of registrations and attendees.

We have continued to support our network communities and have made significant progress with IoTSF, NMI and AESIN during a very difficult year.

We will continue to embrace the new opportunities presented but also look forward to hopefully being able to hold physical events again next year.

In the meantime I send you my warmest season’s greetings and thank you for your continued support and friendship.
